THE STORY OF FRIGID FREEDA
by
Kent E. Gunnison ©

Frigid Freeda was a seal.
Her body? It had sex appeal.
When she'd swim the North Atlantic,
Her following was quite gigantic.

All the bulls; they fought for her,
Hoping to caress her fur.
They'd watch her swim, and climb the rocks,
And then they'd circle her by flocks.

One Spring day, in a freezing wind,
Freeda gave a bull - her fin -
...In marriage; - the way all seals do:
The proper way. That was all she knew.

Now, the bull she married, his name was Furry.
He was so in-love, his eyes were blurry.
And, now his dreams had come true-to-form.
His one desire: Keep Freeda warm.

...It was the first night of the Honeymoon.
Darkness couldn't come too soon.
Furry, he was, Oh... So eager.
With each breath, his love grew bigger.

The intimate moment had finally come:
Furry and Freeda were about to Hum.
Furry had so much love to give.
Together with her. In warmth, to live.

...But Freeda, she had different plans.
More majestic than her man's.
Some of his manners weren't very nice;
And so, she spent the night - on ice.

Poor furry shivered on the rocks,
Wishing he were with the flock.
His mind went back to younger days:
Summer breezes, and warm sun-rays.

What was this, that he had done?
Should he have married another one?
His heart began to break in-two.
And, his ego shrunk, and never grew.

And every night, from that day, - on,
Furry shivered from dusk, to dawn.
He was determined not to marry twice,
'Though his Freeda loved...that frigid ice.

And one day, when they both grew old,
Freeda caught a chill, and cold.
It was a damp and windy winter storm.
She thought, "I'll find Furry to keep me warm!"

She left the ice, and climbed the rocks.
She cried for Furry throughout the flock.
She finally found him...frozen, and old;
No longer able to face the cold.

It's sad that Freeda never learned,
That giving love is how it's earned.
And, although loving isn't always easy,
It will keep you warm when it's cold and breezy.
