FORGOTTEN THOUGHTS
by
Kent E. Gunnison ©

I don't pay much attention to detail.
I've got too much to think about.
What did you say was your name, again?
    What's on in-side-out?

If it's very important, I concentrate,
    To learn what I must retain;
And try to keep my thoughts organized.
What did you say was your name?

I wish I could be like the people
Who seem to remember a lot.
They don't have trouble with details.
You said your name was What?

If it were something I used very often,
    Or repeated again, and again,
I'd probably never forget it.
    My anniversary was when?

Well, I started this poem with a purpose.
The idea just hit me today.
And, now that it's half-way completed,
I forgot what I wanted to say....!
