Once upon a time there was a little boy named Billy. He was a nice boy. He loved his mom and dad and he did what they said.
But Billy had trouble making up his mind.
One Saturday morning he got up for breakfast. Mom said, "Do you want ham and eggs, or just cereal for breakfast?" He couldn't decide. She said, "If you don't decide you'll just get cereal." He could not decide. He ended up with cereal. By not deciding, he was choosing.
When he finished eating his dad asked him if he wanted to go fishing, or stay home and help mom around the house. He couldn't decide. Dad said, "If you don't decide you'll stay home." He could not decide. He stayed home. By not deciding, he was choosing.
His friend’s dad had an airplane. They called and asked if he wanted to go for an airplane ride. He couldn't decide on the phone. He asked his mom, and she said it would be alright. But he still couldn't decide. So his friend hung up and he did not go for the airplane ride. By not deciding, he was choosing.
He went to a friend's house one time and they asked him if he wanted to do something bad. He knew better than the do bad things but he couldn't decide how to answer. Because he couldn't decide, he went along with the friends and did the bad thing. By not deciding, he was choosing.
One night his folks took him to McDonald's. His father asked him if you wanted a big Mac, fries, a shake, or just a small Coke. He could not decide. His dad said, "If you don't decide you’ll just get the Coke." Billy could not decide. He ended up with just a Coke. By not deciding he made his choice.
The next morning he went to Sunday school. His preacher asked, "Do you want to have eternal life in Heaven, or do you want to go to hell?" He couldn't make up his mind. In Sunday school that morning his teacher had asked him if he wanted eternal life and he could not make up his mind. Billy did not get saved in Sunday school that morning.
That afternoon the Sunday school bus dropped him off near his house. Sadly, as he walked away from the bus he was struck by a car. They took him to the hospital. The doctors worked on his little body which had been destroyed by the car, but it was too late. Billy died in the hospital, and where do you think Billy went when he died?
Billy went to hell because he would not decide whether to choose Heaven. By not deciding he was choosing.
You are just like Billy if you can't decide whether to be saved or not. If you don't make up your mind, you're making the choice.
If you say, "I'm not sure I want to eat that banana." It's because you don't want to eat the banana. If you wanted to eat the banana you would decide to eat the banana.
If you say, "I'm not sure I want to get saved." It's because you don't want to get saved. If you wanted to get saved you would take that opportunity this morning.
Today were going to give you the opportunity to get saved. Someday in Heaven you'll be glad you made the choice, or in hell you'll be sorry that you denied the choice.
